over the last 2 ish years, Myself & then Glenn have become quite acquainted with @lizohanesian & (and then) @ ShannonCottrell of LA weekly. if there were any event, we'd see them, and it got to the point were we'd be telling them about our events and things (like Road Warrior Weekend). The new director is on a rampage. Nearly all the staff have been written up since she started. Today several staff were called in for various reasons, and five people were put on 30 day probation periods. If the management isn't happy with their performance by the end of January, they will be fired. I was given a verbal warning about two weeks ago for being "Easily distracted and lacking energy." I can't bring myself to care very much about it.

I recall one staff saying that she got a memo for putting styrofoam in the microwave. Another person was put on probation for wearing a hoodie (she took it off during her shift) and not smiling enough. Two of the staff put on probation today have been working here for years.

My guess is that they don't want to give us raises. The director told us at the last staff meeting that we would be getting a letter with our paychecks on 12/23. If she was happy with our performance she'd be giving us a good raise, unhappy, no raise. This is her way of getting out of it.

I hate her very much.

I got really sick of unpacking all day today, so I took a break to make my Puri-Kura book! I've been wanting to do this project since I got the Memorial Cake photo album. I'm super happy I finally got to start!

And yeah, I started running out of rhinestone letters so I'm missing stuff still haha I'm probably going to need some more sticker sheets from GLBs if I want to keep on with this theme. I'm running low already.

I always knew I was saving all these stickers for something *really important* so, I'm glad I finally got to use them. xD Here's the first two pages:

'Twas the night before Christmas at the League of STEAM headquarters, but there's mischief afoot!

We got the itinerary for the Poinsettia Bowl trip.  oh my god call time is 4:15 am on Monday
I don't think I've ever woken up that early in my entire life
and we get back at 7 in the morning on Thursday.  oh my god x2

But on the bright side, I notice we are getting a total of seven hours of rehearsal to learn our two shows.  That's one hour more than last year!  imma have my continuity DOWN.

And there's a Christmas parade!  which normally I hate playing Christmas stuff, but for marching band it's okay because we only have to play it like once.  As opposed to wind ensemble where we rehearsed Sleigh Ride over and over and over until it was the soundtrack to my nightmares aaaaaarghhhhhh

I'm just glad I get to go at all (story behind this:
When we first found out we were going to San Diego our manager sent an email saying the whole band would be going.
Then a few days later she said "never mind, we can only afford to take 50 people and we're not doing a halftime show" and I thought well that means they're going to take like two clarinets so I guess I won't get to go but if we're not even gonna do a show then whatever I can live with not going.
Then a few days after that she said "actually the athletic department realized that would be lame so we're taking 120 and doing pregame and halftime."  So yay. )

This last Wednesday, Preston took me to Disneyland! It was the last time I'll be able to go before I head over to the Netherlands for a semester. I was pretty stoked, so I got dressed up, of course! ^^

Sneakers were for maximum comfort, and didn't look half bad since they're all black.



Also- I love my boyfriend dearly, but the one think he can't do is tie a proper bow. I ended up tying the bow in front to keep it from trailing around. I think I'll remove the waist ties (they're sewn in) and make a detachable bow out of them instead. I like to front-bow look. :)
